May 2, 2019

If you are writing a literary essay, it’s supposed to speak about the main idea within a book that you have recently read, in most cases. Still, a simple description is not the only component of success. You need to remember about a number of other components that will help you compose a really winning and powerful literary essay.

  1. Introduction.
  2. This is a necessary part of any project. The intro lets readers know what the main idea and goal of your research is. A smartly composed intro makes a great deal of success of the whole paper. If it contains a nice hook – a fact about the book you are researching, a catchy quote, – it’s able to attract attention of more readers and win you more points.

  3. Thesis statement.
  4. This component follows the intro. It’s a short phrase that contains the main idea of the work. Your task is to make it as laconic yet informative as possible.

  5. Hypothesis.
  6. Some students have fear of the very word, while everything is not that dreadful. Writing a hypothesis, you give an idea of what kind of result you expect from the research in the end. In most cases, it involves a cause and a supposed effect.

  7. Body paragraphs.
  8. As a rule, an academic research contains three body paragraphs. Namely, in your literary essay you can have as many body paragraphs as you wish, depending on the number of topics that you discover in each of them. However, making too many is not good. Remember that you need enough reference information to give a good base for each of your statements in the body part.

  9. Conclusions.
  10. They should resound with the intro without repeating it. In the conclusion of your literary essay, you are supposed to speak about the expected result of the research and the one that you have received. In general, there is nothing dreadful in case you have stated one goal in your hypothesis but achieved another one. At the same time, to avoid such a situation specialists recommend composing the intro and conclusions after the research is done and the result is known.

  11. Compositional details.
  12. Apart from the main parts of a literary essay, you should keep in mind several minor components. They involve the phrases that you use to connect body paragraphs to each other, and transitions, words that help you make your narration smooth and logically connected. If you use these little connections, your research will look professionally built and reader-friendly.
